OBJECTIVE
To study the chemical constituents of Claoxylon indicum stems.
METHODS
The chemical constituents were isolated, purified and identified by various chromatographic and spectral techniques.
RESULTS
Seven compounds including oleanolic acid (1), 6-amyrin(2), 7-ketositosterol(3), scopoletin(4), β-sitosterol-β-glucoside(5), L-pyroglutamic acid (6) and β-sitosterol (7) were isolated from ethanol extract of this plant stems.
CONCLUSIONS
Compounds 1 - 6 are obtained from this plant for the first time.
