Patients use the password-protected Project Prepare website on a computer, tablet, or phone over 10 weeks to view: videos of the swallowing and trismus exercises, tips and stories from former patients, what to expect each week of treatment, recipes and cooking demonstrations, how to take care of their teeth during treatment, strategies for stress relief, and strategies for dry mouth and nausea. This website is designed to reach underserved populations who do not have ready access to specialized preventive care.

Web-Based Program in Helping Patients With Head and Neck Cancer Adhere to Swallowing Exercises and Coping Strategies

Mobile Delivery of an Adherence Program for Head and Neck Cancer Patients Being Treated in Community Care Settings

Assessed with the MD Anderson Dysphagia Inventory (MDADI). Will first test for changes in self-reported swallowing function outcome with the MDADI between baseline and follow-up using one-tailed paired t-tests. Correlations and multivariate analyses regressing self-reported adherence to exercises against self-reported swallowing function will be analyzed similarly and appropriately.

Piwik analytics will be used to record usage data regarding patient engagement with the website (e.g. whether the patient looked at the website that week, number of minutes and number of navigations and pages visited).

In all patients, both impacted lower third molars are surgically removed in one session, beginning the extractions in the right side. Bupivacaine in the Treatment of Postoperative Pain of Impacted Third Molar Extraction. A Randomized Clinical Trial.

To identify the analgesia obtained with the alveolus irrigation with bupivacaine at 4, 12 and 24 postoperative hours, by applying the analogous visual pain scale in each third molar object of study.
Postoperative pain will be evaluated at 4, 12 and 24 hours after surgery, using the Likert pain visual analog scale from 1 to 10. There being 1 absence of pain and 10 the worst pain imaginable.

The disclosure of the data obtained in this study will be made through the publication of the trial in a scientific journal

The decision to use another substance for the irrigation of the alveolus will be taken in a randomized manner.Through numerical assignment according to the order of surgical scheduling. The patients with even numbers are irrigated on the right side with bupivacaine and on the left side with saline. Patients with odd numbers will be irrigated in the opposite way.
Patients will be considered blinded to the drug of choice, and they will not know what type of solution will be administered on each side.

Using standard calipers, cheek thickness will be measured from the lingual aspect of the mid-portion of the crown of the mandibular 1st molar (on the same side) to the tangent of the skin of the cheek.

A venous blood sample (approximately 4 ml, 2ml for CBC check up and 2 ml for CRP concentration) will be collected to quantitatively assess the CRP concentration after surgery and the second sample will be collected 72 hours postoperatively
