OBJECTIVE
To evaluate and compare the tensile strength values and influence of taper on the tensile strength of Gutta-percha (GP) cones after disinfection with sodium hypochlorite (SH) and Aloe vera gel (AV).
METHODS
Sixty GP cones of size 110, 2% taper, 60 GP cones F3 ProTaper, and 60 GP of size
OBJECTIVE
The aim of this study was to evaluate the antimicrobial efficacy of Aloe vera and to determine its effectiveness in decontaminating gutta percha cones.
METHODS
A concentrated extract of Aloe vera was used to check for the antimicrobial efficacy using the agar well diffusion method.
Background: Although gutta-percha cones are usually supplied in aseptic packages, once opened and used, they may be contaminated. Chair side disinfection of these cones is important and critical for success of endodontic therapy.
