Thymyl methyl ether is a major component of Blumea lanceolaria (Roxb.) Druce leaves. In this study, the antioxidant capacity of thymyl methyl ether and its better known hydroxylated form thymol was examined using oxygen radical absorption capacity and intracellular antioxidant capacity assays.
Alcoholic and water extracts of the stem and root of Blumea eriantha DC were prepared and evaluated for in-vitro antioxidant activity by methods like total reducing power, scavenging of us free radicals like as 1,2-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH), super oxide, nitric oxide, and hydrogen peroxide.
Blumea balsamifera, also named Ainaxiang, is widely used as an ancient medicinal herb in tropical and subtropical Asia. It is rich in essential oils. In this work the essential oils of B. balsamifera from different plant organs and in different months were extracted, and then analyzed by gas
OBJECTIVE
To study the effect of ethyl acetate fraction of Blumea balsamifera (BBE) residue on treating rats of adjuvant arthritis (AA) and its mechanism.
METHODS
The rats were immunized with the Freund's complete adjuvant (FCA). After modeling, 28 days' treatment with BBE was performed. During the
Xanthoxylin was the main compound (content 44.92% of total volatiles) in the leaves of Luodian B. balsamifera, which might be the key cause of failure in collecting essential oil (EO) of the leaves using general hydrodistillation in Clevenger apparatus. A modified hydrodistillation equipped with
Blumea megacephala essential oil, obtained through steam distillation of samples collected from the Shiwang Mountains in Guangxi Province, China, was analyzed using GC-FID and GC-MS. Among the 65 compounds identified in the oil, the main compounds were borneol (13.6 %), β-caryophyllene (9.56 %),
Traditionally Blumea lacera DC is used to treat inflammation and bowel ailments. Lack of specific, curative treatment for IBD enticed us to investigate the therapeutic efficacy of ethanolic extract of aerial parts of Blumea lacera DC (EEBL) against indomethacin-induced enterocolitis. Male Wistar
Blumea balsamifera essential oils (BBEOs) and Magnolia sieboldii essential oils (MSEOs) have exhibited outstanding antioxidant, anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory activities. However, their anti-photoaging ability is still unclear. In this study, the chemical compositions of BBEOs
Blumea balsamifera DC is a member of the Compositae family and is frequently used as traditional Chinese medicine. Blumea balsamifera is rich in monoterpenes, which possess a variety of pharmacological activities, such as antioxidant, anti-bacteria, and anti-viral activities. Farnesyl diphosphate
The aim of the present study was to evaluate the in vitro anti-cancer and anti-oxidant potential of methanol extract of Blumea eriantha as well as its phytochemical characterization. The in vitro cytotoxic and antiproliferative activities of B. eriantha methanolic extract of leaves were evaluated
The main components of sambong (Blumea balsamifera) are listed in this article. The whole plant and its crude extracts, as well as its isolated constituents, display numerous biological activities, such as antitumor, hepatoprotective, superoxide radical scavenging, antioxidant, antimicrobial and
