OBJECTIVE
To investigate chemical constituents from acetyl acetate extract fraction of Incarvillea delavayi.
METHODS
The chemical constituents were isolated by chromatographic techniques with silica gel, Sephadex LH-20 and semipreparative HPLC. The structures of those compounds were identified by NMR and MS.
RESULTS
Seven compounds were isolated from the EtOAC extract of I. delavayi and their structures were identified as leucoseceptoside A (1), martynoside (2), cornoside (3), edgeworthin (4), 1,2,4-trimethoxybenzene (5), protocatechuic acid (6) and 3-hydroxy-p-anisaldehyde (7) , respectively. Compounds 1-2 were phenylpropanoid glycosides.
CONCLUSIONS
Compounds 3, 4 were obtained from the genus Incarvillea for the first time. Compounds 1-2, 5-7 were first isolated from this plant.
