Pinus sabiniana (sometimes spelled P. sabineana), with the common names gray pine, foothill pine, and the more historically and internationally used digger pine (in reference to the racial slur Digger Indians), is a pine endemic to California in the United States. According to Conifers.org, 'The terms 'foothills pine' or 'gray pine' are now officially preferred', however, other names also exist.
