The aim of this prospective longitudinal clinical trial is to evaluate changes in total hepatic blood flow and liver functions among postmenopausal women using black cohosh (cimicifuga racemosa) extract for twelve consecutive months for relief of vasomotor symptoms.

Pregnancy and lactation are both states of altered maternal calcium metabolism. Maternal calcium mobilization is essential in the provision of an adequate calcium supply to the developing fetus and infant. During pregnancy approximately 30 grams of calcium is required for fetal skeletal development.
