It is native to the southern United States, Mexico (Quintana Roo, Yucatán, Michoacán, Oaxaca, Puebla, Veracruz, Baja California, Chihuahua, Coahuila, Durango, Nuevo León, San Luis Potosí, Sinaloa, Sonora, and Tamaulipas), Venezuela, Colombia and perhaps Ecuador (Loja).
