[Giant bladder diverticulum presenting as inferior vena cava syndrome].

OBJECTIVE

To report the case of a giant bladder diverticulum clinically presenting with symptoms of inferior vena cava compression.

METHODS

Patient under study because of inferior limbs edema who underwent ultrasound that found a giant bladder diverticulum.

RESULTS

Diverticulectomy plus adenomectomy were performed.

CONCLUSIONS

Acquired giant bladder diverticula are very rare; they should be treated surgically to avoid possible complications.
