Acute hemorrhagic edema of infancy is an uncommon benign cutaneous vasculitis. Despite its worrisome presentation, it carries good prognosis with rarely reported systemic involvement. Management of these cases has been an area of debate with majority of physicians adopting conservative modalities.
Acute hemorrhagic edema of infancy is a rare leukocytoclastic vasculitis that affects infants and children aged 4 to 24 months. We report a case of a 5-month-old girl with purpuric lesions with associated hemorrhagic lacrimation and epistaxis.
Epistaxis and bullae occurred in 35 of 54 cynomolgus macaques (Macaca fascicularis). Individual cases developed randomly during a 3 to 4 week period in the winter, and resolved within a week of onset. Clinical signs included nasal and eyelid swelling, bloody nasal discharge, sneezing, and bullous
OBJECTIVE
To determine the safety and efficacy of internal maxillary artery (IMA) and facial artery polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) embolization for treatment of refractory idiopathic epistaxis.
METHODS
From 1998-2011, 84 patients were referred for endovascular treatment of intractable idiopathic epistaxis.
Angiographic embolization for the treatment of severe recurrent epistaxis was added to the traditional treatment options--nasal packing, cauterization, and surgical vessel ligation--in 1974. Since then, clinical experience has shown that this procedure is safe and effective. When epistaxis cannot be
Surgically assisted rapid maxillary expansion (SARME) generates an uncomfortable postoperative period accompanied by pain, edema, and paresthesia. There are few studies on the effect of photobiomodulation (PBM) after SARME and it was not possible to find studies on the efficacy of Wegener granulomatosis or granulomatosis with polyangiitis is a pauci-immune small vessel vasculitis which is usually associated with anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies (ANCA) mainly in old men. This small vessel vasculitis is usually characterized by necrotizing granulomatous Wegener's granulomatosis is a form of systemic vasculitis of unknown etiology that affects the small blood vessels. The disease is characterized by the formation of granulomas on small and medium blood vessels, and often affects the respiratory tract and renal system. In 86% of diagnosed cases,

The microscopic polyarteritis is a vasculitis related to necrotizing glomerolunephritis. It always damages at renal and systemic level (a third of the cases presented hemorrhage alveolar). We have showed a case that took place with hemoptysis and renal progressive insufficiency. Among the patient

Bilateral traumatic carotid cavernous fistulas (CCFs) are rare and may dilate the cavernous sinus. We present a case of brainstem compression caused by a cavernous sinus dilated by the arterial pressure of bilateral CCF.
METHODS
A 30-year-old man suffered severe head trauma in a motorbike
