Appendiceal mucocele is a rare disease and has a clinical picture that resembles acute appendicitis. A correct diagnosis before surgery is very important for the selection of surgical technique(appendicectomy/colectomy)to avoid severe intraoperative and postoperative complications. The Mucoceles are chronic cystic lesions of the paranasal sinuses lined by respiratory epithelium. Their extension into the adjacent orbit may result in proptosis, ocular motility disorders, and diplopia. Brown syndrome secondary to extension of a mucocele into the orbit has been reported previously.
OBJECTIVE
To present a technique to improve the surgical treatment of frontal sinus mucocele and its recurrence.
METHODS
Nine procedures performed on eight patients by a team of ENT and Ophthalmic orbital surgeons. Data collected included patient demographics, surgical details, pathological findings
