Melica transsilvanica is a species of grass found in Europe and temperate Asia, including Caucasus and China.
The species is perennial and caespitose with elongated rhizomes. It culms are 40–90 centimetres (16–35 in) long with tubular leaf-sheaths which are closed on one of their lengths.
