Fatty acid composition of peanut seed oil in four varieties cultivated in Tunisia showed that linoleic (C18:2), oleic (C18:1) and palmitic (C16) acids account for more than 84% for Chounfakhi and Massriya and for more than 85% of the total fatty acids of Trabilsia and Sinya seed oil respectively.
Lectins are (glyco)proteins capable of reversibly binding to specific carbohydrates, thus having various functions and applications. Plant lectins are the best studied, and the Leguminoseae family is highlighted in a number of published works, especially species of the Papilionoideae subfamily.
Peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.) is the fourth most consumed oleaginous plant in the world, producing seeds with high contents of lipids, proteins, vitamins, and carbohydrates. Biological activities of different extracts of this species have already been evaluated by many researchers, including
The water soluble crude polysaccharide (AHP) was obtained from the aqueous extracts of the Arachis hypogaea seeds through hot water extraction followed by ethanol precipitation. Antioxidant activities and inhibitory activities against the bacteria of AHP were investigated. AHP at 2 mg/mL was found
Arachis hypogaea , known as the peanut, is native to South America. Peanut contains several active components including flavonoids, phenolic acids, phytosterols, alkaloids, and stilbenes. Some therapeutic effects have been reported for peanut seed extracts, such as antioxidative, antibacterial,
A protein designated Hypotin, with both antifungal and antibacterial activity, was isolated from peanut (Arachis hypogaea) seeds. The isolation procedure included extraction, ammonium sulfate precipitation, affinity chromatography on Affi-gel blue gel, ion chromatography, and gel filtration. The
The substituted pterocarpenes named aracarpene-1 (1) and aracarpene-2 (2) were isolated from wounded peanut seeds challenged by a strain of Aspergillus caelatus. The structures of these putative phytoalexins were determined by interpretation of NMR and MS data. The aracarpenes were investigated for
BACKGROUND
Patients with peanut allergy can have serious reactions to very small quantities of peanut allergen and often go to extreme measures to avoid potential contact with this allergen.
OBJECTIVE
The purpose of this study was to detect peanut allergen under various environmental conditions and
