A reversed phase high-performance liquid chromatographic method was developed for quantifying E-ligustilide (1) and Z-ligustilide (3) in the roots of Angelica sinensis (Oliv.) Diels with confirmation using UV, atmospheric pressure chemical ionisation (APCI) MS and APCI-MS-MS techniques. Based on the
Benzo(a)pyrene (BaP), a polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH), is an environmental contaminant that can induce cytochrome P4501A1 (CYP1A1) upregulation via aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AhR) activation and provoke inflammation. Here, we investigated the effect of Z-Ligustilide, an active ingredient
Ultraviolet B (UVB), a harmful environmental factor, is responsible for a variety of skin disorders including skin inflammation through reactive oxygen species (ROS) and inflammatory mediator production. Here, we investigated the effect of Z-ligustilide (Z-lig), an active ingredient isolated from
It has been difficult to evaluate the quality of Angelicae acutilobae Radix (Toki) because of large differences in the contents of its chemical constituents. In this research, we revealed individual differences and localization of (Z)-ligustilide in Toki cultivated and processed under the same
BACKGROUND
Ligustilide is a bioactive phthalide derivative isolated from Cnidii Rhizoma (Cnidium officinale, rhizome) and Angelicae Gigantis Radix (Angelica gigas Nakai, root) which are both medicinal herbs used to treat circulatory disorders. Vascular endothelium is a central spot in developing
Ligustilide (LIG), a main lipophilic component isolated from Cnidii Rhizoma (Cnidium officinale, rhizome) and Angelicae Gigantis Radix (Angelica gigas Nakai, root), has been shown to alleviate cerebral ischemia injury and paly a neuroprotective role. We investigated mechanisms underlying the
Endophytes coexist with plants, in part, due to cellulase that allow saccharification of plant cell walls. The cellulase enzymes found in naturally occurring endophytes may exhibit stronger activity and more specificity than commercially available cellulase for enzyme-assisted extraction of
Danggui Buxue Tang (DBT), a herbal decoction composed of Radix Astragali (RA) and Radix Angelica sinensis (RAS), has been used for treating menopausal irregularity in women for more than 800 years in China. According to the old tradition, RAS had to be processed with yellow wine before DBT
Z-ligustilide (LIG), an essential oil extract from Radix Angelica sinensis, has broad pharmaceutical applications in treating cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. Interaction of LIG with the major transport protein of human blood circulation, human serum albumin (HSA) has been investigated
In this work, a simple, rapid, solvent-free, and low-cost method was developed for the determination of ligustilides in traditional Chinese medicines (TCMs), which was based on pressurized hot water extraction (PHWE) followed by headspace solid-phase microextraction (HS-SPME) and gas
Numerous reports assigning (Z)-ligustilide (1) the role of a major bioactive principle in Apiaceae botanicals are called into question by the recurrent demonstrations of 1 being an unstable, rapidly degrading compound, ultimately leading to dynamic residual complexity. While
Abnormal lipid metabolism, such as increased fatty acid uptake and esterification, is associated with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). The aqueous extract of the aerial part of Angelica tenuissima Nakai (ATX) inhibited high-fat diet-induced hepatic steatosis in mice as well as oleic
A new procedure for the separation and isolation of Z-ligustilide from the roots of Angelica sinensis (AS) was developed, and the storage conditions for Z-ligustilide were optimized. Using the present procedure, Z-ligustilide was enriched by decomposing the Z-ligustilide dimers yielding
A facile and highly efficient magnetic solid-phase extraction method has been developed for Z-ligustilide, the major therapeutic agent in Angelica sinensis. The solid-phase adsorbent material used was prepared by conjugating carbon nanotubes with magnetic Fe3 O4 nanoparticles via a hydrothermal
OBJECTIVE
To find out substance basis of pharmacological activities of Angelica sinensis.
METHODS
Chromatographic methods were used to isolate the chemical components, and spectroscopic methods were used to identify their structures.
RESULTS
Five compounds were isolated from the ethanol extract of
