Pterocaulon sphacelatum is a species of flowering plant in the family Asteraceae.
It is found only in Australia, where it is known as 'Fruit-salad Plant' or 'Applebush', as well as other Aboriginal names.
Its natural habitat is subtropical dry continental grasslands. It is a 20–120 cm self–seeding biennial forb. It has spherical pinkish flowerheads. This plant is relatively common in Alice Springs.The 'Applebush' is an aromatic plant is used in Australian Aboriginal medicine.
