Deguelin has both antiproliferation and antimetastasis activities. However, high-dose deguelin elicits many undesired side effects. The purpose of this study was to investigate whether the low-dose deguelin can prevent the metastasis of oral cancer.
The dose effects of deguelin on metastasis of oral
Myocarditis is characterized by inflammatory cell infiltration in myocardial stroma. Attenuation of tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α and interleukin (IL)-1β is a reliable mark for improving the prognosis. Protein kinase B (Akt) plays an important role in the development and progression of Several natural compounds, especially plant products and dietary constituents, are able to exhibit 'angiopreventive' (anti-angiogenic chemoprevention) activities both in vitro and in vivo. Deguelin is a rotenoid of the flavonoid family with chemopreventive activities able to decrease tumor incidence
OBJECTIVE
To determine whether deguelin can regulate the expression of nuclear factor kappa B (NF-kappaB) binding protein (IkappaBalpha) in U937 human leukemia cells and Raji human B lymphoma cells.
METHODS
The localization of IkappaBalpha protein was investigated by using an immunofluorescence
WHAT'S KNOWN ON THE SUBJECT? AND WHAT DOES THE STUDY ADD?: Novel intravesical therapies are needed for superficial bladder cancer that reduce the risk of infection associated with Bacillus Calmette-Guérin (BCG) and further destabilization of the urothelium associated with cytotoxic chemotherapy.
