The in vitro effect of trichosanic acid (TCA; C18:3, omega-5), a major component of Trichosanthes japonica, on platelet aggregation and arachidonic acid (AA) metabolism in human platelets was studied. TCA dose-dependently suppressed platelet aggregation of platelet rich plasma and washed platelets.
