ACTH-independent, cortisol-producing hyperplasia is caused by 2 distinct disorders, primary pigmented nodular adrenocortical disease (PPNAD) and ACTH-independent macronodular adrenal hyperplasia (AIMAH). We will review recent findings on the clinical and molecular aspects of PPNAD and AIMAH.
