Broad-spectrum anti-emetic pharmaceutical compositions are disclosed. The discloses broad-spectrum ant-emetics disclosed herein comprise selected neuroreceptor antagonists specifically formulated to treat and prevent to most common forms of emesis. In one embodiment the ant-emetic compositions include lorazepam, diphenhydramine, promethazine, and metoclopramide. The pharmaceutical compositions include, but are not limited to oral and parenteral forms and may include one or more pharmaceutically acceptable excipient.

Migraine is a multi-symptom disease involving pain; histamine triggers; and nausea with or without vomiting. Current over-the-counter medications focus only on treating pain. This invention involves treating other common triggers and symptoms as well as pain. Acetaminophen and caffeine are already being used but the addition of meclizine is what makes this medication my invention. The addition of meclizine covers the other symptoms that make migraine sufferers miserable which is nausea/vomiting and treats the possible histamine mediated trigger of migraines because it has antihistaminic properties. As a migraine sufferer myself, I experience all of these symptoms and would very much like to have everything I need to cover these debilitating symptoms in one medication hence my invention.

A flexible esophageal tube is provided for insertion through the mouth, downward past the tracheal entrance and into the esophagus to a lower limit opposite the tracheal carina. Inflatable cuffs are respectively fixed, above and below the tracheal entrance, on the esophageal tube for sealing the tracheal entrance against leakage around the tube. A ventilating tube is sealed in the esophageal tube against the anterior wall of the upper part thereof with an open distal end projecting out of the esophageal tube and mouth and a closed distal end extending past the tracheal entrance. Perforations defined in the common anterior surface of both tubes between the cuffs admits anesthetics, introduced at the distal end of the ventilating tube, to pass into the tracheal entrance, trachea and lungs. Thus there can be no mixing of vomit expelled from the stomach through the esophageal tube with general anesthetic and air forced into ventilating tube and the esophagus between inflated cuffs and destined for trachea and lungs.
