The subject of the present invention is a composite wound packing material comprising a casing enclosing a material, or an assembly of materials, forming fluid flow channels, said casing being composed of a self-supporting interface material formed from a thin layer of a composition comprising a hydrophobic matrix and comprising through-holes, said hydrophobic matrix comprising, per 100 parts by weight of a styrene/saturated olefin/styrene triblock copolymer having a viscosity of between 0.2 and 2 Pas, as measured in a 10% (weight/weight) solution in toluene, from 400 to 1220 parts by weight of a plasticizer, preferably a plasticizing oil, and from 0 to 720 parts by weight of petroleum jelly, it being specified, moreover, that the total amount of plasticizer and petroleum jelly is greater than or equal to 750 parts by weight and the amount of petroleum jelly is between 400 and 720 parts by weight when the amount of plasticizer is between 1000 and 1220 parts by weight.

Composite material for filling cavity wounds

A thin metal casing with plastic parts and a manufacturing method thereof are revealed. A thin metal casing already formed having on one surface processed and coated with a decorative outer layer is provided. A thermoplastic rubber (TPR) adhesive layer is disposed on an unprocessed surface of the thin metal casing. The TPR adhesive layer is synthesized by butadiene-styrene block copolymer and hydrocarbon petroleum resin. Then the thin metal casing with the TPR adhesive layer is set and fixed in a cavity of an injection molding mold. Next plastic parts are formed on the TPR adhesive layer of the thin metal casing by plastic injection molding. The plastic parts are melted and connected to the TPR adhesive layer integrally by pressure and temperature of injection material. Simultaneously a part of the TPR adhesive layer is infiltrated into existing micro concave holes on surface of the thin metal casing.

An insert for sealing and acoustic damping of a longitudinal cavity having an interior surface, comprising: a) one or more carrier plates made of a polymeric material (A) which does not deform when heated to a temperature not higher than 180.degree. C. and which comprises a main polymer (A1) which gives mechanical strength to the carrier plate, and--at least one vibration-damping polymer (A2), and b) a thermally expandable material (B). The vibration-damping polymer (A2) is preferably selected from the group comprising: thermoplastic polyurethanes, styrene/butadiene block copolymers, hydrogenated styrene/butadiene block copolymers, styrene/isoprene block copolymers, hydrogenated styrene/isoprene block copolymers, styrene/isoprene/styrene tri-block copolymers, and hydrogenated styrene/isoprene/styrene tri-block copolymers. The invention further includes methods of manufacturing such inserts by injection molding, as well as a method of damping air-or structure-borne vibration in a longitudinal cavity with the aid of such an insert.
