OBJECTIVE
To assess whether serum uric acid, which is a marker of impaired oxidative metabolism, might correlate with left ventricular systolic and diastolic dysfunction in patients with chronic heart failure (CHF).
BACKGROUND
Uric acid levels, which are frequently elevated in patients with CHF,
