The present invention relates to a balloon made of a synthetic resin film, such as nylon, having a thin film on the surface thereof; on the thin film printing can be conducted by the use of a printer for use in computers. The thin film, which is printable with a water base ink, includes a water soluble emulsion including polyvinyl emulsion, water, and a potato starch, and an oilness binder and a white pigment. In a preferred embodiment, the thin film has a lower layer film containing an oilness binder, a white pigment and an upper layer film containing a polyvinyl acetate emulsion, water and a potato starch; these lower and lower layer films are applied on the outer surface of the balloon in this order to obtain a balloon made of a synthetic resin film with a thin film which is printable with a water base ink.

A quickly dissolving carrier granule made up of wood fibers, mineral filler, and starch-based or dextrin-based adhesive binder. The wood fibers in these granules are preferably wood fibers ranging from about 10 microns to about 2 mm in length. Typically, at least about 35 weight- % of the fibers are retained on a 50-Mesh U.S. Sieve Series screen. The wood fibers in this invention are derived from sources that are substantially free of resins such as urea-formaldehyde resin and of diphenylmethane diisocyanate resin. Typical binders are soluble dextrin binders or a viscous corn starch, wheat starch, rice starch, tapioca starch, potato starch, or sago starch binders. The granules have a Resistance to Attrition of at least 90%. Also disclosed is a method of making such granules. The disclosure also describes carrier granule compositions which are made up of from 10 to 90 weight- % of carrier granules wherein the binder is a dextrin binder and from 90 to 10 weight- % of carrier granules wherein the binder is a food-based or industrial-based native starch.

A pressure sensitive adhesive composition suitable for medical purposes comprising a rubbery elastomeric base and water soluble or water swellable hydrocolloids, where the adhesive composition includes a substantially homogeneous mixture of 15-60% of one or more rubbery components, 10-60% of a mixture of hydrocolloids that includes a cellulose derivative, amidated pectin, and potato starch, 0-50% of one or more tackifier resins, 0-15% cohesive strengthening agent, 0-10% of a plasticizer and 0-5% pigment. The adhesive shows at least as good properties as state of the art adhesives comprising gelatine with respect to resistance to biological fluids, adhesion to skin, and coherence.
