HPLC-MS-based metabonomic analysis was used to investigate urinary metabolic perturbations associated with D-serine-induced nephrotoxicity. D-Serine causes selective necrosis of the proximal straight tubules in the rat kidney accompanied by aminoaciduria, proteinuria and glucosuria. Alderely Park
